This text builds on the classic Strategies for Real-Time System Specification to offer real-world case studies on requirements and architecture specification and their impact on the system development process. The book has two main parts:

Part I: Concepts lays the groundwork for the systems approach, system models, the system development process, and applying the models to the development process.

Part II: Case Study -- Groundwater Analysis System offers an in-depth look at the development of a highly multidisciplinary system.

A special Appendix collects recent updates to the Hatley/Pirbhai methods.
